Microsoft Security Copilot Availability and Pricing

Microsoft Security Copilot, also known as Copilot for Security, will be available for general use starting April 1st. The pricing for Security Copilot will begin at $4 per hour, based on usage.

During a press briefing on March 7 at the Microsoft Experience Center in New York, Microsoft demonstrated how Security Copilot can provide real-time assistance to security professionals and gather data from various Microsoft security services.

How Microsoft Security Copilot Assists Security Professionals

Security Copilot can function as a standalone application that retrieves data from multiple sources or as an embedded chat window within other Microsoft security services.

One of the key features of Security Copilot is its ability to offer suggestions to security analysts based on conversations or incident reports. This aids in defending against cyber attackers who are part of a “ransomware as a gig economy” community.

Microsoft Security Copilot sets itself apart from competitors by utilizing ChatGPT and integrating data from a wide range of interconnected Microsoft applications.

Learnings from Security Copilot Private Preview and Early Access

During the private preview and open access phases, partners provided feedback to Microsoft on the APIs they wanted to connect to Security Copilot. Customers with custom APIs found it particularly beneficial that Security Copilot could integrate with those APIs.

Customers were able to customize Security Copilot to fit their organization’s specific workflows, prompts, and scenarios during the preview periods.

Feedback from customers indicated a desire to use security tools for AI governance, ensuring that tools like ChatGPT do not disclose confidential company information.

Customers are increasingly interested in leveraging threat intelligence to optimize resource allocation and prioritize security efforts efficiently.
